THE HOLIDAYS

We left for school holidays on the 3RD of July.

We Came Back to school on the 20TH of July.

I stayed at My antes house for one day and my amaches house for one day.

Every night i got to watch TV.

on the last 3 days of the holidays I went to Queens town for my mum,s birthday but i cannot tell you how old I mean Yong she is!

Her birthday is on the 12 of June 1929.

she a concentration camp in Northern.

She died with a deadly sickness in 1945 ,At the age of 15! She had a diary and with out it we would not know about her!

My Brother's 5th Birthday Party

My brother turned 5 yesterday. He is excited because now he can go to school. We didn't celebrate with a big party like we usually do because we are still in lock down, so mum made it a super special day for the family at home.

We got to have pancakes for breakfast and milo. I felt a bit sick after but I think it's because I ate too much. 

After breakfast Anderson got to open his presents. He still has presents in the mail. Aunty Sherilyn sent him some lego in the mail that you can build 3 in 1. Anderson chose the dragon and mum helped him build it (well mum did most of it). He also got a really old comic book from mum and Adam that is from 1967. It's a Mickey mouse one about Robots.

Mum set up the lounge with paper lanterns and balloons. The lanterns are from my 2nd birthday party. Mum likes to recycle. Anderson got a huge number 5 balloon that we both played with. 

For lunch we had a platter with fruit and chips. My favorite was the pretzels. Anderson also got to blow out the candles on his cake. He did it while we were singing happy birthday instead of waiting. We all thought it was funny. Mum made his cake to look like the walls in Andy's room from toy story. It had a blue background and she made clouds. She also put smarties on the top and around the bottom. The cake tasted delicioso. We watched Toy story 3. Mum and Adam got "emotional" at the end when Andy said good bye. 

For dinner mum made pizza. It had pepperoni on it and my mouth was on fire!!!! Aunty Krystal came by quickly (she stayed far away from us) and gave Anderson and me some presents. Anderson LOVED the soft toys so much, he even slept with one of them. Granddad Bruce, Nana and Aunty Meli also came by to give Anderson some presents before bedtime. Anderson was showing off and being silly. I think his birthday was fun and I loved the cake.

A new ending to Tangled!

In the original Tangled....

Flynn Rider is chained up to the floor by Mother Gothel. He got stabbed by Mother Gothel in the chest. Mother Gothel is trying to take Rapunzel away with chains. Rapunzel says, after struggling and making it hard for Mother Gothel, "I won't ever stop fighting. I will never stop trying to get away from you". Rapunzel says if she lets her save Flynn Rider, she will go with Mother Gothel peacefully.  He refused for her to heal him and told her "if you do this, you will die" because he knew that Mother Gothel is evil. He leans in for a kiss and cuts her magical locks with a shard of glass from a broken table top. Her hair instantly turns brown. Mother Gothel is screaming "no!" and is bunching it up in her hands. She turns into an old lady. "Yuck!" She's so old she turns white all over and looks like a skeleton. She trips and falls out the window to her death and turns to dust never to be seen again.


Rapunzel looks to Flynn but he is nearly dead. She puts his hand on her head and begins to sing the magical song to try and heal him. It doesn't work. His last words to her were "You were my new dream" and she says "you were mine". He sadly, dies. She finishes the song and a magic tear drop goes on his cheek. The magic from the flower goes into his body and he starts glowing. There is flower magic all over the room. He is alive! 

Rapunzel's parents are informed by a guard that she is back. They run with sadness and hope in their eyes. They look at each other. The King and Queen don't know if it is true. The mother places her hand on Rapunzel cheek and looks into her eyes and knows is it her daughter. She hugs Rapunzel, and then the dad too and they are in a big family hug bubble. The kingdom has a week long celebration because their princess has returned. Everyone's dreams came true from the Snuggly Duckling. The Kingdom is whole again. 

Azura's Ending....

Flynn Rider enters the tower and sees a bag and he thought it was coins so he took it and put it in his satchel. Mother Gothel comes over to him from the shadows and attacks with his knife. He was too quick and got got the knife from her but got a cut on his hand. Flynn Rider makes her go back and back threatening her with the knife. She falls out of the window and lands on Maximus's back. She was stuck with a rope around Maximums chest so she couldn't get off. He galloped as fast as he could and took her to jail. The king sentenced her to jail for a million years. 

Flynn Rider asked Rapunzel if she is alright. They both wonder what was in the bag as Rapunzel was never allowed to see when she was little. When they open it, they see some magic flower seeds that Mother Gothel had just in case. Back at the palace, where Rapunzel was born, a guard opened the door. He had a look in his eyes. The Queen and King knew their long lost daughter had returned. The raced through the hall and opened the gates. They saw their beautiful daughter standing there with Flynn. They ran up to her and did a family hug bubble with Flynn Rider. 

Flynn and Rapunzel both planted the seeds together on top of the castle. They used the flower petals to make medicine for the people in the town if anyone got sick. Everyone in the town lived for an eternity. The whole kingdom had to be secret, as people from far and wide tried stealing their medicine. They put a magical spell on the town making it invisible to people that don't live there. To enter or leave, they must say the magic word, "GLEAM AND GLOW". They lived a happy and long ever after.

Salted Caramel Tart - Measurement + Time

RECIPE

BASE

• 225g - Plain sweet biscuits (packed + crushed)
• 150g - Butter

CARAMEL

• 100g - Butter
• 1 Cup - Packed brown sugar
• 790g - Condensed milk
• 1 1/4 tsp - Salt

CHOCOLATE GANACHE TOPPING

• 1/3 cup - Cream
• 150g - Dark chocolate

METHOD

BASE

1. Get out all your ingredients
2. Measure the biscuits to be 225g and then we mashed the cookies with a rolling pin.
3. Measure the butter - 150g and melt in in the microwave in something plastic or glass, not metal. Make sure there are no bits in the butter.
4. Pour in the butter with the cookies. Mix it all up. 
5. Put the mashed up cookies in your baking tin. Then put it in the oven for 10 minutes.

CARAMEL

1. Measure 100g of butter and melt it in a pot. 
2. Measure 1 cup of brown sugar. Mix them together and melt.
3. Pour in 790g of condensed milk and mix until steam comes out then put the salt in.
4. Pour over the base and put it in the oven for 15 minutes.

CHOCOLATE GANACHE TOPPING

1. Measure 1/3 Cup of cream.
2. Measure 150g of dark chocolate.
3. Put them together in a pot and melt over the stove. Mix it lots until its smooth
4. Pour over the top of the caramel tart once it has cooled a bit.

At home we have been talking lots about washing our hands because of Covid-19.

Level 4 lock down - my time in isolation 15/04/2020

Fort Isolation

My mum made a fort under the dinner table. I used my phone to watch movies in there with my brother. It had the bed sheets and a pillow inside. My mum put in 2 jars full of fairy lights that looked beautiful, expect for one that was almost dead. 

My mum printed off a lock down diary that I have been coloring and filling in. My favorite page is  where I draw what I had for dinner.

We have been going on lots of family walks to get out of the house. We play games while we are walking. My top pick is the game where we choose a topic and we each take a turn naming something that starts with a letter of the alphabet aka 'the alphabet game'. People have been putting teddy bears in their window and my brother and I have been looking for them. My mum and I went on a walk just us, and she made a game where I would get play money for certain things that I spot. One of them was to spot a person wearing a mask, which we saw lots of when we walked past the supermarket! The line was very long as well. 

Mum and Adam's goal over the lock down period was to teach me about time. It was very hard at the start but I am starting to get all the questions right now. Mum will ask me during the day "what's the time?" and I have to say if it is closest to quarter past, quarter to, half past or o'clock. 

I like spending time at home and annoying my brother. I play video games, watch movies, play with lego and do baking with mum. Yesterday mum, Adam and I played Cludo. Mum always wins. 

On Sunday it was Easter. My brother and I got a kinder chocolate bunny each and mum made a carrot cake. It had walnuts in it and she made tiny carrots to decorate it with. We colored a Easter egg that Jacinta Arden told kids in New Zealand to all color in and put in their windows like the teddy bears. We didn't put our ones in the windows because we don't live on a street where lots of people walk. 

My feelings:
It's not really that different except I'm not going to school. I am not scared because I am safe at home with my family. Its a little boring not being able to go on the playground or go out to the beach or far away from home but mum and Adam say that it will all be over before I know it.
